We are finally back with a new post – and two exciting reasons to celebrate! Just a few days ago Because I Said So Baby turned 1 AND we welcomed our second baby into the world (more details to follow – yay!!).
Exactly one year ago I launched Because I Said So Baby. As a new mom, I felt as if I had so many thoughts to share. So much I wish I would have known at the start (cloth diapering fails, anyone?), that I decided to go out on a limb and start a mom blog. At the time, I thought to myself: I can’t be the only one who wishes they could have known some of this stuff beforehand. And turns out, I was right.
Through Pinterest, Facebook, and plain ole’ Google Search, new and veteran moms alike have discovered my little corner of the internet. The best part about mom-blogging is realizing that you’re not alone. That there are other moms out there who want to know how to get a newborn baby to breastfeed, or years later, how to survive a tough day with a toddler. And over the past year it’s been amazing to hear from other moms like me, who have had the same thoughts, fears, and questions.
So in honor of turning 1, here are our Top 5 Most Popular Posts!
1. 6 Things in Your House That Need to Be Cleaned ASAP – 45,124 views
Who knew? When I wrote this post I really just wanted to share some crazy cleaning tips. Like most moms, I like my house to be neat and clean but most of the time that’s just a pipe dream. These 6 places, though? You’ll want to bust out the vinegar and Q-tips. Trust me.
2. Everything You Wanted to Know About Baby-Led Weaning – 34,008 views
BLW is probably one of my favorite topics on Because I Said So Baby. We had so much success using this method with Harper and it was so fun to share these experiences with other moms out there.
3. My 1 Year Old’s Daily Routine – 6,374 views
While this post doesn’t have nearly as many views as my Top 2, there are at least 6,000 people out there who are also interested in how to plan out their 1 year old’s day. Having a routine is what keeps me sane as a SAHM. Harper thrives with a solid routine, and even now at 2 year’s old, we still follow a daily routine.
Two BLW posts in the Top 5! This topic is the one I get the most questions about. Before Harper started eating solids, I did my fair share of reading and research to figure out the best way to go about it. So when I started this site, I knew I wanted to pay it forward by combining all of that research with my actual experiences using this method.
5. How to Get Your Toddler to Say “Yes” More – 4,811 views
When Harper first started becoming verbal as a toddler, it sure felt like all she said was “no”. Turns out, I was not alone. While “no” is a favorite term of toddlers everywhere – I discovered that with a couple of quick tricks, I could often turn “no” into “yes”.
Here’s to the next year of blogging where I hope to share more easy meal ideas, DIY hacks, and practical parenting tips!
